We travel at least 150,000 miles by foot in our lifetime according to Suzanne Levine, D.P.M., author of Your Feet Don’t Have to Hurt (St.Martin’s Press). Athletes log tens of thousands of extra miles. According to the American Podiatric Medical Association in Bethesda, Maryland, approximately 250,000 sweat glands in your feet excrete about a half pint of moisture daily. Some doctors treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) with prescription-strength antiperspirants or Botox.
